About AiDA

AiDA is the largest online directory of official development aid activities. It offers a quick overview of who is doing what in international development, where they are doing it, and with what funds. AiDA is provided by Development Gateway Foundation, in cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the United Nations Development Program, and the World Bank.

A Note for Researchers

Over 220,000 ongoing or planned activities worldwide are listed in AiDA, plus 300,000 archived projects and programs. Information is harvested from major bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, and UN agencies. The information may not reflect all activities or most recent activities of these donors. AiDA should be considered a starting point for reviewing aid and development activities but not a comprehensive source.

Development Gateway Foundation and Aid Effectiveness

The Development Gateway Foundation is working to advance aid harmonization and coordination by addressing key challenges in the areas of information access, tracking and management. It provides Web-based information systems that governments and aid agencies can use to work more effectively together.

NOTE ON CONTRIBUTED CONTENT. The information provided in the AiDA directory is supplied by the donors that fund the aid activities. This data may not include all current or planned aid activities by these donors, and there is often a lag time between the start of an aid activity and its publication in AiDA.
